A clock label is part of the schedule
A rift opening written as 20:00 is incomplete until you know which region’s clock it uses. The timer uses Asia/Taipei for Taiwan and Asia/Seoul for Korea. Taiwan is UTC+8; Korea is UTC+9. Even when the two schedules use the same eight local clock hours, their openings occur at different instants. A Korean 20:00 opening occurs one hour before a Taiwan 20:00 opening.
Select the server region first. Do not select your physical location unless it is also the region you play. A player in Europe using a Taiwan server still needs the Taiwan cycle. The local display then converts that server opening to the browser’s time zone. Your location changes how an instant is displayed, not which server cycle the timer follows.
Use UTC to compare one instant
UTC gives your group a common reference that does not depend on anyone’s local display. A Taiwan opening at 20:00 is 12:00 UTC. A Korean opening at 20:00 is 11:00 UTC. These examples are conversions of local scheduled hours, not live confirmation that a portal is available. Check the selected region’s evidence level along with the converted time.
When friends disagree about a screenshot, compare both the region and the UTC timestamp. A screenshot showing only a countdown can become stale, and one showing only 20:00 can refer to a different region or date. Sharing the timer’s region-preserving link lets each person read the same regional cycle in their own local time, while UTC helps resolve ambiguity in messages.
Pay attention to dates and daylight saving
An opening can fall on a different calendar date in your country from its server date. An early-morning server opening may still be on the previous day for a player farther west. Read the date alongside the hour in the upcoming list before putting it in a calendar. This is especially useful when planning a session near midnight or comparing an opening with a dated announcement.
Your local zone may also change its offset during daylight saving transitions. A recurring server hour should not be translated into one permanent local hour for the entire year. The browser’s time-zone conversion handles local date rules, so use the current display for the specific opening you want. Check that your device’s selected zone and automatic clock settings match your actual location.
Calendar events and regional confidence
The calendar download represents the next opening as a single event, rather than asking you to maintain a repeating reminder manually. Import it into your calendar application and choose your own notification setting. If maintenance is announced after the download, review or remove the event yourself. An imported calendar entry does not refresh when the source schedule changes, and this website does not send cancellation notices.
A correct time-zone conversion cannot strengthen weak schedule evidence. Taiwan’s cycle has an official rule with a clearly explained example-list discrepancy. Korea’s hours are community-reported, and Global has no verified schedule in the tool. Keep those confidence differences in mind even if the converted clock looks precise. Precision in calculation is useful for planning, but the regional game notice remains the authority when a rule or maintenance window changes.
Check the next opening for your region, then confirm the in-game notice before you travel.
